Star Trek Beyond - Trailer Review

I feel like fans of the original Star Trek series are too harsh on the newer Star Trek films, okay all the business with Khan I can understand but we got 1 and a half great films out of this and no, i don't think they were the betrayals of the franchise that so many Trekkies would make them out to be. Then this trailer had to come out.

Alright look, now Simon Pegg himself has come out and said this trailer is not accurate to the actual film, to paraphrase him, this is just a bullshit, get dumb casual fans in the seats, don't worry, the actual film is nothing like this. But good god, this trailer just sucks. Because you know what I think of when I think Star Trek? It ain't The Beastie Boys! That's for sure! Star Trek is supposed to be the mature science fiction show, grounded in realistic expectations for the future and deal with themes of humanity, morality, logic vs emotion, cultural differences and work as commentary on societies unfair prejudices against other cultures. This was Fast & Furious in space. Jesus Christ I thought that was supposed to be a joke! I didn't know they were actually going to turn this literally into Fast & Furious in space!

Like I said, Simon Pegg has said the actual movie will be nothing like this and I certainly hope so, because out of all the trailers we've been getting this past couple of weeks, this is easily the worst. And if the movie is like this then I am going to be sat groaning all the way through the film.
