Arrow "Dark Waters" Review
Now it's time for the mid-season finale of Arrow. Here we see Oliver publicly out Damian Darhk as the one responsible for all the attacks in Star City, which leads to Damien seeking vengeance on Oliver by killing those closest to him. Oh and Oliver proposes to Felicity and 5 minutes later she is shot in the gut, dang.
So something i've really liked this season is that Oliver really has not been making as nearly man stupid decisions as he did in season three. Outting Damien Darhk is without a doubt the dumbest decision he's done all year. You've just publicly outed your villain, so what is stop him from attacking you in a large crowd of people!? He has nothing to lose, his anonymity is gone, he has more powerful men, of course he's going to attack you in public because unlike you, he doesn't have anymore secrets to keep! He can do what he want! And he does! You really didn't think this one through Oliver! To make it even worse is that at one point he questions whether outting Damien was the right thing to do and Felicity assures him that is was. Good lord you people go dumb around the holidays!
Let's talk about Felicity, because she has quite a bit to do in this episode. Let's start with Mini-Felicity at the start of the episode, a girl who is really smart yet when a drone is shooting up the beach she for some reason is just stood there looking at it like a fucking idiot. Kid, you don't need to be a genius to know that when something is shooting at you, you take cover! Don't just stand there being like "ooh, shiny!" fucking moron. Oh and then there is Felicity's mum who is...still here for some reason, spoiling the surprise and showing Felicity the wedding ring, well gee, way to ruin the fun for everyone, bitch. So then we get a lot of talk about why Oliver didn't propose and it's because he didn't want to agree to something like that incase one of them died because of course one of them would die in that situation, it's movie law (Or TV). Then surprise, they get engaged at the end of the episode and Felicity is shot, i guess this would be a bad time for Oliver to say "I told you so". But no, i don't think Felicity is going to die, i think this is just a red herring, there to make us think she is totally the one in the grave when she's not. How do i know this? Because you don't end a cliffhanger in this style, if a character looks dead but is not 100% confirmed that they are dead then they are most certainly not dead, again it's movie law (Or TV).
Then on a final note here are some random notes I have. How many warehouses does Damien own? It seems like every single episode there is a fight in a warehouse. Also it's nice to see Black Canary using her sonic screech tech thing more often, after all it is kinda her thing and would come in handy quite a bit. And then flashbacks are still not interesting at all.
This episode was...eh. Lot of dumb character stuff, cliched storytelling galore and repetition at its finest. 5/10
